The Grief Centre is a Registered Charity based in the Auckland and Whangarei region to provide Transformative Support though all forms of loss and grief.

The Grief Centre provides the following services to children, youth, adults, families, community workers and health professionals;
  • Counselling: Fees are based on client-affordability and some free sessions can be supplied when required. Clients can self-refer or an agency referral form can be supplied by the office.
  • Bereavement Support: National phone-based service provided by support workers.
  • Support Groups
  • Resources and Information: Pertaining to loss and grief.
  • Training: Seminars and workshops for the community and for professionals.
  • Supervision: For professionals working with individuals and families dealing with loss.

Supporting Families in Mental Illness Auckland Inc. began in 1987, when we were known as The Schizophrenia Fellowship. SF now have 6 office locations across the Northern Region, stretching from Kaitaia to Otahuhu, and we are connected to the national network of SF organisation across the country through our membership of SFNZ.

We provide free:
  • Advocacy: face-to-face support, helping family and whanau safely navigate their way through mental health and addiction services.
  • Education: workshops, presentations and skills training for families and professionals.
  • Information: about mental illness and addictions, and services and supports available.
  • Support Groups: regular monthly local groups, plus access to online supports and moderated social media.
